Ever since Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor in January there’s been extensive talk about a rubber match, and Dana White’s confirmed the UFC’s working on the fight.

Poirier avenged his 2014 stoppage loss to McGregor at UFC 257, by taking out the star in round two. Recently White spoke with Jim Rome, and while discussing Poirier – McGregor III, the UFC President said this (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Conor’s ready to roll,” White said. “Conor wants to fight again. He wants the rematch with Dustin Poirier, and he wants it as soon as possible. We’re working on it. Hopefully this summer”

“I think the loss put him back into a really good place,” White added, while talking about McGregor. “It’s the classic ‘Rocky III.’ You’re pulling up to the fight in yachts and covered in Versace and you got all the money in the world, it’s hard to stay hungry.”

Poirier improved his record to 27-6 with the win in January, while McGregor’s fell to 22-5.
