Daniel Dubois Storms Through Anthony Joshua
By FCF Staff
Daniel Dubois recorded the biggest win of his career on Saturday and the IBF heavyweight champ did so in devastating fashion, by demolishing one of the biggest stars in boxing.
Dubois faced former unified champ Anthony Joshua in the card’s headliner and proceeded to knock his fellow Englishman out in round five. Dubois dropped Joshua not long into the contest and also recorded knockdowns in rounds three and four.
The end came after Joshua appeared to stun Dubois. But, as Joshua moved in and hunted for a finish, Dubois sent the 34-year-old to the deck with a vicious right hand.
With the win, the 27-year-old Dubois moved his record to 22-2, with 21 KOs. Joshua’s record fell to 28-4 with 25 KOs.
The defeat is a considerable setback for Joshua, who had won four straight after dropping consecutive bouts to the decorated, Oleksandr Usyk.
Saturday’s fight took place at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
