Darren Till to Fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Pro-Boxing Debut
By FCF Staff
Darren Till will be returning to competition for the first time since 2022. But, the former UFC welterweight won’t be doing so in a cage. Instead, it’s been announced that Till will make his pro-boxing debut this summer against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Recently, Netflix announced that Till will battle Chavez Jr. on the undercard of the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson event, which is taking place on July 20th. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani was reportedly the first to report the match-up.
The fight will be contested at 190 pounds over six rounds.

Till, who currently holds a MMA record of 18-5-1, hasn’t fought since he was submitted by Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282. That fight took place in December, 2022. The loss was the 31-year-old’s third straight.
Chavez Jr. (53-6), who is 38, hasn’t competed since 2021 when he recorded a decision win over David Zegarra.
The Paul – Tyson card will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be streamed on Netflix.
