Strikeforce continues to round out the line-up for its upcoming, November 18th card in Las Vegas, as the promotion has confirmed that Nate James will take on middleweight Derek Brunson at the event.
James (13-7-1) will head into the bout having won back-to-back fights over Marcus Sursa and more recently Danillo Villefort via unanimous decision. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter’s last loss took place in April, when James dropped a split decision to Tyler Stinson while competing for Bellator.
Brunson (8-0) has gone undefeated in eight bouts since the accomplished collegiate wrestler transitioned into pro MMA last year.
Most recently in July, the Greg Jackson, Renzo Gracie trained fighter scored a first round, submission win over Lumumba Sayers.
The November 18th Challengers card will be headlined by a middleweight fight between Antwain Britt (11-5) and the aforementioned Sayers (4-2).
Other bouts that have been confirmed for the event include Ronda Rousey (3-0) vs. Julia Budd (3-1) and Adlan Amagov (8-1-1) vs. Anthony Smith (14-6).
The card will be hosted by the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort and will be broadcast on Showtime.
