UFC Edmonton has lost one of the event’s biggest draws, late, as Derrick Lewis has been forced off the card.

The feared slugger was booked to fight Jhonata Diniz at today’s event. But, recently it was reported by multiple outlets that Lewis has withdrawn from the card. According to a report from MMA Fighting, UFC officials have confirmed the heavyweight’s withdrawal was not due to a weight-cutting issue.

Lewis did weigh-in on Friday at 266 pounds but was reportedly absent from the ceremonial weigh-ins.

UFC Edmonton will be headlined by a flyweight fight between former champ Brandon Moreno and surging contender, Amir Albazi.
