Following his thrilling and intense battle with Islam Makhachev at UFC 302, Dustin Poirier has confirmed he incurred multiple injuries during the fight.

Poirier has drawn widespread praise for the toughness and heart he showcased in the June 1st contest, which saw the lightweight champ end the fight with a fifth-round, choke. More recently, the 35-year-old reported that he sustained a broken rib and nose, as well as a partially torn ACL in the fight.

Nose is broken bad, rib is broken and my ACL is partially torn.

After the loss, Poirier (30-9) noted that the fight may have been his last. The former interim lightweight champ has gone 2-3 in his last five fights.
