The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has officially closed its investigation into Zuffa, LLC, the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

“The Commission has now closed its investigation into Zuffa LLC and Explosion Entertainment LLC (parent company of Strikeforce),” said  Mitchell Katz, Senior Public Affairs Specialist at the FTC.  “The closing letters are on our Commission Web site under commission closing letters. That’s all we are going to have to say on this one.”

In August, it was revealed that Zuffa had retained Axinn-Veltrop-Harkrider, LLP, a New York City-based law firm as its representation before the FTC, which was in the midst of looking into Zuffa’s March 2011 purchase of the UFC’s former top competitor, Strikeforce.
