Frankie Edgar is up For “Back-to-Back” Title Fights With Conor McGregor

Frankie Edgar believes Conor McGregor is in for a tough test when he battles lightweight king Rafael dos Anjos on March 5th, but if he does take the title, “The Answer” would love to face the 145 champ in consecutive bouts.
Since Edgar stopped Chad Mendes in December, the consensus has been that he’s next in line to face McGregor for the featherweight title. Edgar campaigned hard for the match-up, but McGregor wanted to move to 155 and challenge for the belt there.
Recently Edgar spoke to FOX Sports about McGregor, and he stated that RDA is a “very tough fight” for the Irish star. Edgar was also asked, however, whether he might be interested in facing McGregor not once, but twice, if he in fact defeats dos Anjos.
“I’d love to. We can do it back-to-back and that will be UFC 204 or whatever, that would be the next biggest fight,” Edgar said. “I’m game. If they let me get my hands on him once, I’ll definitely re-do it.”
Edgar also reported that he’s going to wait and see what happens on March 5th, and that he’s not looking to fight in the interim.
