Georges St-Pierre And Manager Say Report of Pending Comeback Not True
By FCF Staff
Georges St-Pierre could return to the cage at some point, but the fighter has shot down a recent report that said he would announce his comeback soon.
St-Pierre hasn’t fought since November, 2013, when he earned a split decision win over Johny Hendricks. The Canadian star announced he was taking a hiatus, and since then, there’s been considerable speculation as to when and if he’ll return to the UFC.
Following a recent report that said GSP was going to announce his return in the coming days, St-Pierre told MMA Fighting.com that the “sources” for the story were “not reliable”. St-Pierrre’s manager, Rodolphe Beaulieu, also said the report was inaccurate.
The former welterweight champ has resumed training in recent months, and St-Pierre has also credited the UFC for introducing more stringent and extensive PED testing procedures. But, the 34 year-old has yet to commit to a return to fighting.
