By FCF Staff
UFC 251 has taken a significant hit approximately one week out, as Gilbert Burns has tested positive for COVID-19, and will not fight welterweight champ Kamaru Usman as a result.
Recently it was reported that Burns and two of his cornermen, his brother Herbert Burns, and coach Greg Jones, have tested positive for the virus. Burns trains out of Sanford MMA in Southern Florida. Aung La N Sang, who also trains at the gym, recently tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
Since news of Burns’s removal was reported, the welterweight tweeted this.
devastating news, not feeling well but I’m going to win this battle! Stay safe out there! Much love
