GLORY 17: Jarrell Miller in for Sergei Kharitonov Versus Mirko “Cro Cop”
By FCF Staff
GLORY’s televised lead in card for “Last Man Standing” has a new headliner, as the promotion has announced Jarrell Miller is replacing Sergei Kharitonov versus Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.
The reason for Kharitonov’s withdrawal was not given, but it was reported recently by Liverkick.com that the fighter has an injured finger.
Miller (22-1) and “Cro Cop” (22-8) fought before in 2013, and Filipovic earned a decision win. Since then, Miller has largely been focusing on his boxing career, which has seen the heavyweight go 9-0-1.
GLORY 17 will be hosted by the Forum in Inglewood, California, and will also feature a featherweight tourney. The opening round bouts will see Shane Oblonsky (8-2) versus Marcus Vinicius (7-2) and Yodkhunpon Sitmonchai (83-21-1) versus Gabriel Varga (23-2).
Andy Ristie (41-4-1) will also battle fellow lightweight contender Ky Hollenbeck (46-3-0) at the event.
The next edition of Full Contact Fighter Radio features interviews with Miller and Oblonsky.
The PPV portion of the card, which airs after the SPIKE broadcast, will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Daniel Ghita and Rico Verhoeven.
