The consensus belief is that newly crowned, bantamweight champ Miesha Tate will fight her rival Ronda Rousey next, but Holly Holm is calling for an immediate rematch.

Holm lost the 135 title to Tate at UFC 196 on Saturday, as the perennial contender choked her out in round five. The bout came together because Holm wanted to stay active,  rather than wait for Rousey to return later this year, following her KO win over the latter in November.

Recently Holm spoke with Jackson Wink Raw, and while doing so, the vaunted striker said this to Tate (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I want a rematch. Miesha’s been around a long time. She’s a tough champion so I’m sure she’ll want to take the fight so let’s do it.”

“I gave you a shot, give me a shot” Holm added later. “I’m not going to let you choke me out again.”

Before facing Tate, Holm had won 10 straight bouts since transitioning into pro MMA.
