As it’s already known by fans around the world the, once closed and restricted, Chute Boxe academy has open its doors for several training co-operations, receiving guests from the most diverse academies and styles, with the intent of improving their fighters techniques. Names like Jiu Jitsu stylist Nino "Elvis" Schembri, former rival and UFC veteran Jorge Patino Macaco, and even striker Evangelista Cyborg not only trained with Chute Boxe for a while, but became members of the team after initial trainings. Recently, UFC and Pride veteran Pedro Rizzo, and K-1 MMA veteran Lyoto Machida spent time in the famous academy from Curitiba, sharing the mats with the likes of Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio Shogun and Murilo Ninja, showing collaborations are the new trend in the academy. However, now this trend has truly got to a new level, as Japanese superstar Kazushi Sakuraba is already in Curitiba, and training at Chute Boxe!
After lots of speculation on when the Pride star would finally arrive in Brazil, Sakuraba finally landed in Brazilian soil this Friday morning, August 19th, even anticipating rumors that he would indeed arrive only on Monday. During his brief stay so far in Curitiba, Sakuraba already visited the Chute Boxe academy, where he caught the final moments of the famous "Morning training sessions", where all the pros train together, meeting his nemesis Wanderlei Silva and his son, Chute Boxe trainers Rudimar Fedrigo and Rafael Cordeiro, Mauricio Shogun Rua and his brother Murilo Ninja, among many others. After the visit to the academy, the top dogs at Chute Boxe joined the Japanese fighter on a lunch, at Batel Grill, one of the most famous barbecue restaurants in Curitiba. Sakuraba is expected to stay training for 40 days at Chute Boxe, and came along with other Japanese fighters who are also going to benefit from the training. FCF will keep you posted on news about Sakuraba’s Brazilian trip. |
