Invicta FC 10: “Cyborg” Justino Off Card Due to Injury
By FCF Staff
Cris “Cyborg” Justino’s plans to fight at 135 have been delayed, as the top ranked fighter has been injured, and will no longer compete at Invicta FC 10 as scheduled.
“Cyborg” had been scheduled to fight at the December 5th event, and the promotion’s featherweight champ was expected to fight at bantamweight. Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp has announced, however, that “Cyborg” has incurred a full thickness rupture of the anterior talofibular ligament.
In the announcement that was posted at UFC.com, Knapp furthered: “Cris was right on track to make 135lbs. She begged to stay on the card, but we have to consider her future.”
“Cyborg” hasn’t competed in a MMA fight now since last July, when she stopped Marloes Coenen at Invicta FC 6.
As a result of Justino’s withdrawal, atomweight champ Michelle Waterson (12-3) will take on Herica Tiburcio, (8-2) in the card’s new headliner.
