Islam Makhachev & Rafael dos Anjos Trade Tweets, After Latter Withdraws From UFC 267
By FCF Staff
It looks like UFC 267 will no longer feature Rafael dos Anjos taking on Islam Makhachev, and the fighters have traded verbal jabs over the cancellation.
The pivotal, lightweight fight was scheduled for the October 30th event, which will take place in Abu Dhabi. Dos Anjos, however, has reportedly withdrawn from the bout due to injury, and that kicked off this exchange on Twitter.
@RdosAnjosMMA I don’t believe that you’re injured.., again #chickenfever
Do you really think I would fake a surgery? Coming out of another terrible injury. Unlike you I have a family that depends on me and I don’t have another man paying my bills.

Makhachev and dos Anjos have been scheduled to fight three times to date now. Two bookings for late last year were cancelled due to Anjos contracting COVID-19 and then Makhachev incurring a staph infection.
