Jared Gordon Reports This is “The Best I’ve Ever Been”, After Taking Out Thiago Moises

Jared Gordon may be closing in on turning 37, but the rugged lightweight believes he’s never been a better fighter, following his latest victory.
Gordon faced fellow veteran Thiago Moises this past weekend at UFC Vegas 106, and recorded a first-round knockout to move his record to 21-7. The victory returned Gordon to the win column, as in his last outing in June, 2024, he lost via split decision to Nasrat Haqparast.
That defeat was Gordon’s first since he lost via unanimous decision to Paddy Pimblett in 2022, which was also a very competitive bout. Some observers scored the fight for Gordon.
So, while talking to the media after his impressive win Saturday, Gordon reported he’s feeling more than confident, about where he’s at as a fighter (quotes via MMA Junkie.com).
“When you go into a fight, and you win the fight, and then you still lose somehow, it kind of messes with you,” Gordon said. “Obviously, there’s a few fights in my past that’s what happened. So, I go home and I’ll be like, ‘I don’t understand.’ I did everything right, I won the fight, and I still lost.
“I’m not going to go into specifics, but I just had to change a couple of things, personal things, and I think I found the key. So, here I am, and I’m the best I’ve ever been. I’ve shown in the last four or five fights that this is how good I am. Those fights weren’t flukes. So, this is me.”
With Saturday’s win, Gordon has gone 2 and 2, with 1 no contest in his last 5 bouts. In November, 2023, he recorded a first-round stoppage win over decorated wrestler, Mark Madsen.
