Jimmie Rivera Calls Out Cody Garbrandt
By FCF Staff
After having two bouts fall through for UFC 219 last weekend, Jimmie Rivera is calling for a scrap with former bantamweight champ, Cody Garbrandt.
Initially, Rivera was supposed to fight Dominick Cruz on December 30th, but the former champ had to withdraw due to a reported, broken arm. John Lineker stepped in as a replacement, but he had to pull out due to an infected tooth.
Recently Garbrandt reported that he’s healthy and eager to fight, and Rivera responded:
. @Cody_Nolove says he healthy, let’s put a show on for the fans. He wants to defend his spot and I want to take it. @seanshelby @ufc

Rivera (21-1) hasn’t fought since July, when he earned a decision win over Thomas Almeida. Garbrandt (11-1) fought in November and lost the title to T.J. Dillashaw via a second round, stoppage.
