John Moraga Makes Case For Rematch With Sergio Pettis, Following UFC on FOX 29 Win
By FCF Staff
After recording a third straight victory at UFC on FOX 29, John Moraga is campaigning for a bout with former foe, Sergio Pettis.
Moraga took on fellow flyweight contender Wilson Reis on Saturday night, and worked his way to a decision win over the veteran fighter. The victory was Moraga’s third straight, since he lost via decision to Pettis in January, 2017.
Following the pivotal win, Moraga had this to say about Pettis and his next bout, while talking to the media (quote via MMA Junkie):
“He keeps posting highlights and sh-t (of our first fight),” Moraga said. “I see that sh-t. What’s up, Sergio? Let’s do this again.
“Let me get some time while you jump in on short notice with me, because most of these people couldn’t have done that. So that gets me a little bit boiling when I see that. I don’t like to make excuses or anything, but there was no preparation for that last Phoenix fight. I had nothing. I came in here, and I was tired. But I went through three rounds with one of the best off no training.”
Pettis, meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Henry Cejudo in December, which snapped his four fight winning streak.
