UFC 295 has lost its original main event, as neither Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic are going to be competing at the upcoming card.

Jones was scheduled to defend the heavyweight title against the former champ at the November 11th card. But, recently UFC President Dana White announced that Jones completely tore a tendon from his pectoral muscle and will need to undergo surgery. As a result, rising heavyweights Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich will fight for an interim title.

As this post is being published, it’s not clear if Miocic was offered to fight for the interim belt.

The fight between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira, which is for the vacant light-heavyweight title, will serve as the new headliner.

Aspinall (13-3) is coming off a quick stoppage win over Marcin Tybura in July, which followed his TKO loss to Curtis Blaydes that took place in July, 2022. That loss came as the result of a serious knee injury Aspinall incurred.

The English fighter has gone 6-1 to date in the UFC.

Pavlovich (18-1), meanwhile, stopped Blaydes in the opening round of his last fight. That bout took place in April.

The Russian heavyweight has also gone 6-1 in the Octagon.

UFC 295 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.
