UFC on FOX 18 has received a compelling heavyweight bout, as the promotion has announced that Josh Barnett will face fellow contender Ben Rothwell.

The upcoming card will take place on January 30th in Newark, New Jersey.

Barnett (34-7) returned to the Octagon for the first time since 2013 in September and decisioned Roy Nelson. Prior to that he was KO’d by Travis Browne.

Rothwell (35-9) is riding a three fight winning streak and submitted Matt Mitrione in his last outing, which took place in June.

Barnett is currently ranked #6 in the UFC’s heavyweight division and Rothwell is #8.

UFC on FOX 18 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Anthony Johnson.
