Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Manager: Conor McGregor Rematch is “Not on Our Radar”
By FCF Staff
Khabib Nurmagomedov has repeatedly shot down the possibility of fighting Conor McGregor again, anytime soon and his manager has echoed that sentiment.
Since McGregor was submitted by the lightweight champion in October, 2018, he’s called for a rematch. But Nurmagomedov has argued that the former champ needs to record multiple wins, before he deserves another title shot. UFC President Dana White, however, as said that if McGregor beats Cerrone on January 18th, he’ll be next in line for a title fight.
Recently TMZ Sports caught up with Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz. When the latter was asked about White’s comments and the possibility of Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor II, he said this (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“Listen, Dana’s the greatest promoter in history, (and) I respect the man very much,” he said. “He has to make people care about Conor. And by mentioning Khabib’s name, he is making Conor more relevant. It’s OK. He promote, can do whatever. Khabib has a plan, Dana has a plan, Sometimes we’ll get upset, sometimes we’ll agree, but business moves on.
“But Conor’s not on our radar. He might lose to ‘Cowboy,’ as far as I understand. I think he might lose.”
Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, is scheduled to fight former interim champ Tony Ferguson on April 18th.
