King Green Will “be Back” Following Vicious KO Loss
By FCF Staff
King Green has released a statement following his vicious, knockout loss at UFC 313, and the veteran lightweight’s vowing he will be back.
Green faced rising lightweight Mauricio Ruffy on Saturday and was taken out by a spinning wheel kick not long into the contest. The defeat was the 38-year-old’s third in his last four fights and was the second time he’s been KO’d during that stretch.
Via an Instagram story, Green (32-17-1) credited Ruffy for his victory, before informing his supporters he is not retiring yet (quote via MMA Junkie.com).
“Shout out to everyone that rides with me and came through this whole thing,” Green said. “I love all you guys. I thank you so much for supporting me through all this bullsh*t. But we’re not done. I just need some more time to get myself back to the cage. We’ll be back.”
Green’s last victory took place in April, 2024, when he recorded a unanimous decision win over Jim Miller.
