Leon Edwards Announces Belal Muhammad is “Stepping Up”

After another scheduled fight with Khamzat Chimaev has fallen through, Leon Edwards has announced that Belal Muhammad has agreed to fight him.
Edwards for was scheduled to face Chimaev on March 13th. But, the latter cannot compete due to ongoing issues stemming from COVID-19. It marked the third time a fight between the welterweights has been canceled.
The UFC has been looking for a replacement opponent for Edwards, and recently he tweeted out this.

Edwards (18-3) hasn’t fought since July, 2019 when he defeated Rafael dos Anjos by decision. The UFC’s #3 ranked welterweight has won eight in a row.
Muhammad (18-3) handed Dhiego Lima a decision loss last weekend and has won four straight. He is currently ranked #13 in the promotion’s welterweight’s division.
