Leon Edwards Blasts “Journeyman” Jorge Masvidal Again

Leon Edwards has been trying to secure a fight with Jorge Masvidal, ever since their well documented backstage altercation in 2019. Now the welterweight contender has stepped up his verbal attacks on Masvidal, and he’s claiming the fighter’s rise to fame is predicated on an act.
Edwards has repeatedly called for a bout with Masvidal, but to date, the latter hasn’t sounded too interested. “Gamebred” has argued that he has bigger, more established fighters to face.
It remains to be seen who both men will fight next, but recently Edwards fired off these tweets at Masvidal (warning: graphic language).
“I’m ranked above and heading for my 9th win in a row so you know it gets you closer to the title beating me. But keep hiding behind the ‘it does nothing for us’ excuse you and your whole b-tch made team keep using cus you know ill f-ck you up.”

Edwards hasn’t fought now since last July when he beat Rafael dos Anjos via decision. Masvidal, meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to welterweight champ Kamaru Usman this past July.
