Leon Edwards Lights up Jorge Masvidal Over UFC 269 Withdrawal, Warns Kamaru Usman
By FCF Staff
Now that Leon Edwards is no longer fighting Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269, it looks like the welterweight contender doesn’t plan to remain on the card.
Edwards was scheduled to fight his rival at the December 11 card. But, on Wednesday it was reported Masvidal has incurred an injury and can no longer compete.
At the time, it wasn’t clear if the UFC was going to seek a replacement opponent for Edwards, and Khamzat Chimaev has reportedly offered to take the fight. But, more recently, Edwards relayed he’s turning his focus to champion, Kamaru Usman.
Disappointed but honestly I knew this fraud didn’t want to fight me anyway. He was just a stop off on the way to the title. The goal remains the same. Much needed family time now,
@usman84kg i will see you soon.

The 30-year-old Edwards is on a 1o-fight, undefeated streak. The last man to defeat him was Usman, who recorded a decision win over him in 2015.
