LFA 101 to Feature Multiple Undefeated Prospects

By press release

LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will be headed to a new destination in March to host LFA 101 in the state of Oklahoma.

The main card of LFA 101 will feature numerous top undefeated prospects in the sport of MMA. They will be showcased at this event in fights where they are either facing top MMA veterans or other undefeated prospects. The event could end with every winner on the fight card remaining undefeated, while others could be going home with the lessons that only a first loss can teach.

LFA 101: The Undefeated takes place this Friday, March 12th at the Grand Event Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma, which is an exurb of Oklahoma City. The featured middleweight bout will see a high-profile clash between blue-chip prospect A.J. Dobson and top Alaskan fighter Maika Graf. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

“We are excited to bring the LFA back to the state of Oklahoma,” stated LFA CEO Ed Soares. “LFA 101 will be our fifth event in the Sooner State and it will feature over a dozen undefeated fighters looking to keep their perfect records intact. Some will face veterans, who have already learned the lessons that a first loss teaches, while others face fellow undefeated fighters where someone’s O must go.”

Dobson (5-0) will be making his LFA debut, but it will feel more like a long-awaited return for the blue-chip prospect. In August 2015, the Ohio native was set to make his professional MMA debut at RFA 29 against Joe Gigliotti. Dobson made weight, however, Gigliotti missed weight and the fight was canceled. Gigliotti would later go on to sign with the UFC, while Dobson built up his own resume to the point that he is now widely considered one of the most promising middleweight prospects in the sport. In his most recent outing in November, he proved that point by knocking out former LFA star Kailan Hill in just 35 seconds.

Graf (8-1) is the most exciting middleweight prospect to emerge from The Last Frontier of Alaska since current #3 ranked UFC contender Jared “Killa Gorilla” Cannonier reigned supreme in The Land of the Midnight Sun seven years ago. The Hawaii native, who now calls Alaska home, built a name for himself in the 49th state starting with his pro debut in 2013. The man known as “Red Mat”, like most fighters in 2020, had his career abruptly put on pause due to the pandemic. However, the heavy-handed local champion picked up where he left off this past weekend with a dominant win against Deven Paulsen in Soldotna, Alaska.
