The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to fill out the line-up for the promotion’s upcoming October 13th event in Rio de Janeiro with Brazilian fighters, as today it announced that Sao Paulo’s Luiz Cane will fight middleweight Chris Camozzi. The bout was confirmed via the promotion’s UFC Brasil Twitter account.
Cane (12-4) hasn’t fought since August, 2011, when he was stopped by Stanislav Nedkov at UFC 134. Prior to the defeat, Cane scored a first round, TKO win over Eliot Marshall at UFC 128 that March.
The Brazilian is 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.
Camozzi (17-5) had been scheduled to fight Buddy Roberts at the upcoming UFC 150 card, but was forced to withdraw due to injury.
The Colorado fighter is coming off back-to-back wins over Dustin Jacoby and most recently Nick Catone, after losing by unanimous decision to Francis Carmont at UFC 137 last October.
