If UFC 249 does take place, Magomed Ankalaev is supposed to rematch Ion Cutelaba at the April 18th event. But, following a ban on travel out of Russia, due to the coronavirus, Ankalaev doesn’t know whether he’ll be able to attend the event.

Ankalaev fought Cutelaba last month at UFC Norfolk and was awarded a controversial, TKO win. Cutelaba appeared to be playing possum and exaggerating how badly he was hurt, but the fight was called. As a result, a rematch was booked for UFC 249.

Recently, however, Ankalaev shared out the comments below via Instagram (translation via MMA Junkie).

How I will fly to this battle will be a big mystery for us, since from today for an indefinite period air flights from Russia to other countries are FORBIDDEN!

Khabib (Nurmagomedov) and the rest of his team managed to leave Russia yesterday, I should have done the same and left the country yesterday.

I think that 60% of the fight at the UFC 249 tournament will not take place!
