UFC officials, as well as thousands of MMA fans, can rest easy, as Mark Hunt has reportedly and finally received his visa to travel to the U.S. for his UFC 160 tilt with Junior dos Santos. The feared striker reported via his official Twitter account Sunday: “Thank u for my visa father”.
According to a follow up report from MMA Weekly.com, the UFC has also confirmed that Hunt has received his visa and plans on heading to the U.S. Monday. The news comes less than a week from when Hunt is set to fight dos Santos on May 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hunt attempted to leave Australia earlier this month to give him plenty of time to acclimatise to the conditions in Nevada as well as the time difference. At the time, he was denied a visa, due to what the heavyweight said was an incident in 2002. Hunt has competed in the U.S. on a couple of occasions since then, and as a result, the UFC was confident it would be able to resolve the issue.
