Maycee Barber Posts Statement Following Late UFC Vegas 107 Withdrawal
By FCF Staff
Following her unfortunate and late withdrawal from UFC Vegas 107, Maycee Barber has posted a statement.
Barber was scheduled to fight fellow flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield in Saturday’s headliner. But, minutes before the fight was set to begin, it was announced Barber had not been medically cleared to compete.
Since then, there has been no official word on what exactly transpired. But, Barber has released the following statement via social media, as well as images of her receiving medical attention.
Not what I had planned for a Sunday post. Thank you to everyone for the prayers & support I owe an apology to @ufc @mickmaynard2 @danawhite @seanshelby & @blanchfield_mma ** PS my life is not messy this is just a bad hand. We will get to the bottom of it all and be back
The 27-year-old Barber (14-2), who missed weight for Saturday’s card, hasn’t fought now since she defeated Katlyn Cerminara in March, 2024. Following that win, Barber was reportedly hospitalized for several days due to pnemonia, strep throat and a staph infection.
