Following his well-documented split from the UFC earlier this year, Muhammad Mokaev has added another win to his resume with a quick, submission victory.

The former UFC flyweight contender faced Joevincent So at Brave CF 91 on Friday, who was a very late replacement for Mokaev’s original, scheduled opponent, Luthando Biko. Mokaev proceeded to submit So with a D’Arce choke less than two minutes into the fight.

The UFC opted to not resign the 24-year-old Mokaev (13-0) following his unanimous decision win over Manel Kape in July, despite the fact he is widely regarded as one of the top flyweights in the sport.

At the time, UFC CEO Dana White cited Mokaev’s altercations with Kape as a contributing factor in the promotion’s decision to not resign him.

Brave CF 91 took place at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town, Bahrain.
