Nate Diaz Takes Boxing Rematch With Jorge Masvidal
By FCF Staff
Nate Diaz didn’t do so under the MMA rules set, but the Stockton star avenged his 2019 loss to Jorge Masvidal on Saturday night.
The UFC veterans squared off in a pay-per-view boxing match, and Diaz outscored Masvidal en route to a majority decision win. The official scores were reportedly 97-93, 98-92 and 95-95.
Diaz and Masvidal fought for the first time at UFC 244 for the inaugural, ceremonial, BMF title, and the latter won the belt via a doctor stoppage due to a cut.
The 39-year-old Diaz was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul in their boxing match last August. Diaz is now 1-1 in official, pro-boxing bouts.
Masvidal, who is also 39, was competing for the first time since he lost via decision to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, in April, 2023.
Saturday’s fight took place in Anaheim, California.
