By FCF Staff
After Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz fought for the first time back in 2019, there was speculation for some time, as to whether the two would battle again.Well, now, several years later, we know the answer is yes.
The stars battled at UFC 244 for the first ever, ceremonial “BMF” title, and Masvidal won the belt via TKO. Diaz was not allowed to continue into the fourth round due a large cut he incurred.
More recently, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reported that Masvidal and Diaz are going to box on June 1st in Los Angeles. The fight will be contested at 175 pounds and will be available via pay-per-view on Fanmio. The bout has been officially announced since then.
The 39-year-old Masvidal initally announced his retirement after losing to Gilbert Burns in April, 2023. The longtime contender competed in one pro-boxing fight back in 2005 and won via decision.
The 38-year-old Diaz, meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Jake Paul in August, in what was Diaz’s first pro-boxing match.
