After going throughout 2022 without competing, Nick Diaz says he wants to fight, and he wants to fight soon.

The 39-year-old star hasn’t fought since September, 2021, when he lost via TKO (retirement) to Robbie Lawler. The fight marked the second time the two had battled, as Diaz knocked Lawler out back in 2004.

The Lawler rematch was the first time Diaz (26-10) had competed since 2015.

The Stockton fighter was recently interviewed by Inside Fighting, and Diaz reported he wants to fight again, “as soon as possible”. When asked whether he’d be interested in fighting middleweight champ Alex Pereira or former champ, Israel Adesanya, Diaz said yes.

Adesanya is set to face Pereira again at UFC 287, April 8th. Currently, Diaz is not ranked in the top 15 of the UFC’s middleweight division.
