Opinion: Your Life is Tabloid News (Tito Ortiz Edition)
By Michael Hatamoto
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is a retired fighter, healing up his old, banged up body while exploring new money making opportunities.
Ortiz has two children with ex-girlfriend Jenna Jameson, and they have had numerous domestic issues that routinely are in the news. Things reached a chaotic new level (once again) a few days ago, when Jameson went ballistic on Twitter.
Here is a Tweet Jameson sent:
Here is more drugs Tito kept prior to fights… Scared me and scared my kids. I won’t lie for him anymore twitter.com/jennajameson/s…
— Jenna Jameson (@jennajameson) May 30, 2013
Jameson has acted strangely, especially over the last year, as the former ‘adult entertainment’ actress had substance abuse issues.
Here is a statement Ortiz published on Twitter:
“The unfortunate allegations being made against me are simply not true. I would never do anything to jeopardize my family. Being a great father and protecting the well-being of my children remain my top priority. I thank my family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support at this time. For my children’s sake, I appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
As already mentioned on Full Contact Fighter, there is a serious need for sports media responsibility, and this won’t be the last we hear from Jameson. Meanwhile, Ortiz will continue to consider movie roles and build his MMA management company while trying to stay under the radar and avoiding the tabloids.
