Palaszewski vs. Griffin, Credeur vs. Tavares Added to UFC 137

Veteran lightweight Bart Palaszewski will drop down to featherweight and fight Tyson Griffin at UFC 137. The promotion announced the October 29th bout this afternoon.
Palaszewski (35-14) (pictured) will make his UFC debut having dropped a split decision loss to Kamal Shalorus in his last outing at WEC 53 in December. The defeat ended Palaszewski’s four fight win streak which included wins over Anthony Pettis and Zachary Michlewright.
Griffin (15-5) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Manny Gamburyan in June, after the former lightweight dropped three straight to Nik Lentz, Evan Dunham and Takanori Gomi.
The UFC has also confirmed a middleweight tilt for the upcoming October 29th card in Las Vegas, as Brad Tavares will meet Tim Credeur.
Credeur (12-4) will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to Ed Herman and Nate Quarry, which ended the Louisiana fighter’s six fight win streak.
Tavares (7-1) is coming off his first professional loss, as Aaron Simpson handed fthe Hawaiian fighter a unanimous decision defeat at UFC 132 on July 2nd. Prior to that Tavares stopped veteran Phil Baroni at UFC 125 on January 1st.
UFC 137 will be headlined by a welterweight bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and former Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz.
The event will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
