After dropping his Octagon debut at UFC 316, former Bellator bantamweight champ Patchy Mix is assuring his supporters that better days are ahead.
Mix faced contender Mario Bautista on the pay-per-view’s main card, and lost via unanimous decision. Bautista outstruck Mix by a margin of 173 to 122, in a fight that saw Mix only initiate one takedown.
More recently, the 31-year-old Mix posted the following statement via social media (quote via MMA Fighting.com).
“Tough night for me in the office,. But I appreciate the people that have supported and been along for the ride. Would have liked to do more and made adjustments. I will come back stronger from this moment.”
The loss on Saturday marked the first time Mix (20-2) had been defeated since September, 2020, when he lost via unanimous decision to Juan Archuleta. Mix had won seven straight fights heading into UFC 316.
