Patricio “Pitbull” Freire came up short in his UFC debut. But, the former Bellator champ’s reporting he’s healthy and eager to fight again this summer.

Freire faced Yair Rodriguez at UFC 314 this past weekend, and lost the bout via unanimous decision. It marked the first time the 37-year-old had competed since March, 2024, when he stopped Jeremy Kennedy at a Bellator Champions Series event.

Following UFC 314, Freire posted the following statement via social media.

Thank you @ufc for everything. I felt very welcomed, great treatment from all the staff towards me, my team and my family. I heard International Fight Week is amazing and the card is still open, I’ve got a few names in mind. Who would you guys like to see me fight next?

Freire (36-8), who held Bellator’s featherweight and lightweight titles at one juncture, has lost three of his last four bouts.

UFC 317 is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on June 28th to conclude Interational Fight Week.
