Paulie Malignaggi is ending his retirement, as the former boxing champ has signed with Bare Knuckle FC, and is expected to make his promotional debut later this year.
In a press release announcing the signing, the 38-year-old pugilist was quoted saying:
“After a long boxing career, it’s easy to miss the limelight and the rush that combat brings,” said Malignaggi. “I look forward to getting back in action and the new challenge of fighting for BKFC.”
Malignaggi hasn’t competed since March, 2017, when he was knocked out by Sam Eggington. The New York fighter went 36-8 during his boxing career.
According to a follow-up report from Helen Yee, the plan is to have Malignaggi fight Conor McGregor’s teammate, Artem Lobov, if the latter beats Jason Knight on April 6th.
