Raul Rosas Jr. has made it clear he intends to become the youngest fighter to ever win a UFC championship. But, the bantamweight’s also reporting he doesn’t plan to fight into his late 20’s.

The 19-year-old Rosas Jr. (9-1) has established himself as one of the UFC’s top, youngest prospects, by going 3-1 in the Octagon to date. At UFC 306 this Saturday, the fighter of Mexican heritage will battle Mongolia’s Aori Qileng (25-11).

Leading up to the fight, Rosas Jr. spoke with ESPN MMA. While discussing his future and hopes, Rosas Jr. reported if all goes according to plan, he sees himself retiring at 25 (quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“I just wanna accomplish my dreams which is to become the youngest UFC champion, have the belt, defend the belt a few times, probably retire,” Rosas Jr. said. “Hopefully by 25 years old my career is all said and done and I’m able to enjoy time with my family and whatever I decide to do. I feel like I’m right on track.

“Right now, this is my opportunity. This fight this Saturday is gonna put me in a very good spot with four wins in the UFC and four finishes. Right now I’m focused on that and whatever comes next, I’m gonna be ready. After this fight I’m able to get a big name, maybe a top 15 or a good name, a good test.”

Rosas Jr. is coming off a second-round, submission win over Ricky Turcios in June.

UFC 306 will be hosted by the Sphere in Las Vegas and will feature bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley versus Merab Dvalishvili in the headliner.
