(Updated) Report: Bellator 247 Headliner Cancelled After Paul Daley Hospitalized
By FCF Staff
Bellator 247 will reportedly no longer feature Derek Anderson taking on Paul Daley in the main event.
The welterweight tilt was expected to headline Thursday’s card, which is taking place in Milan, Italy. But, after Daley came in 2.6 pounds overweight for the contest, he reportedly fell ill before the ceremonial weigh-ins.
Gareth A. Davies reported the news via Twitter.

The 37-year-old Daley (41-17-2) hasn’t fought since last October, when he stopped Saad Awad at Bellator 232.
As this is being written, Bellator has yet to release an official statement regarding the situation.
Update: in a follow-up report from MMA Junkie, Daley confirmed that he experienced severe cramping, but that after resting at the hospital he feels okay. Daley also reported that he did not receive an IV at the hospital and he still wants to face Anderson, but the fight remains cancelled.
