Report: Bellator’s Scott Coker “Definitely” Interested in Talking With Benson Henderson
By FCF Staff
Following Benson Henderson’s win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC Fight Night 79, the fighter announced he intends to test the free agent market, and Bellator’s Scott Coker say he’s interested.
Henderson completed his current UFC deal on November 28th, by earning a split decision win over Masvidal. Afterwards, Henderson reported he hopes to retire with the UFC, but in the meantime, he wants to entertain offers.
Recently Coker spoke with MMA Fighting.com, and the Bellator President had this to say, when asked about Henderson:
“We’re trying to find out if he’s free yet,” Coker said. “They (UFC) may have an exclusive negotiating period. We’re trying to find out what the situation is. Once he’s free, we’ll definitely have a conversation with him. He’s a great talent, he’s an amazing talent. He’ll be highly coveted. We’ll see where his head is at but we’ll definitely have that conversation.”
Henderson has been fighting under the ZUFFA banner, via the WEC and then the UFC, since 2009.
