Report: Cain Velasquez vs. “Bigfoot” Silva II, Alistair Overeem vs. Junior dos Santos Set For UFC 160
By FCF Staff
After knocking out Alistair Overeem at UFC 156 earlier this month, it appears as though Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has been given an opportunity to avenge his one sided, stoppage loss to heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez.
According to multiple reports, the “UFC Tonight” program has announced that Silva and Velasquez will meet again, May 25th at UFC 160. The bout will take place one year after the two fought for the first time at UFC 146.
Since then, of course, Velasquez (11-1) has gone on to avenge his prior loss to Junior dos Santos, by handing the former champ a unanimous decision loss at UFC 155 in December.
Silva (18-4), on the other hand, has scored stoppage wins over Overeem and Travis Browne.
In addition, the UFC has announced that Overeem will also fight dos Santos at the Memorial Day Weekend event.
Overeem (36-12) and dos Santos (15-2) were supposed to fight last May at UFC 146, however, Overeem tested positive for elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone levels and was not licensed for the bout.
UFC 160 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
