Report: Carlos Condit Interested in Rematch With Nick Diaz

By FCF Staff

Carlos Condit is mapping out his Octagon return, after suffering a serious knee injury earlier this year, and the welterweight contender is interested in facing a former foe.

Condit has yet to fight since UFC 171 in March, when he tore his ACL and partially tore his meniscus, during his stoppage loss to Tyron Woodley. The former interim interim champ recently spoke with Albuquerque’s KRQE, and Condit confirmed that his knee is “feeling good” and that he’s back to “almost 100%”.

When Condit was asked about who he might be interested in facing next, the Jackson’s MMA fighter stated:

“Nick Diaz is back in the picture, and I was thinking about maybe after he fights Anderson Silva, getting that shot at him. Doing a rematch and kind of settling the score.”

Condit won the interim title in February, 2012, when he worked his way to a closely contested, unanimous decision win over Diaz. Condit went on to face Georges St-Pierre later that year in November, and lost via UD.

The 30 year-old is currently ranked #4 in the UFC’s welterweight division.
