Dana White has publicly supported Jon Jones, and his decision to enter rehab, after it was announced the champion tested positive for cocaine metabolites. But, more recently, the UFC President has conceded he was “horrified” by the news.
Jones failed a pre-fight drug test heading into his UFC 182, victory over Daniel Cormier on January 3rd, and news of the tests results surfaced soon after. White recently appeared on “The Jim Rome Show“, and according to a report from MMA Fighting.com, he admitted he was “horrified” by Jones’ test results.
White also reportedly stated: “My thing is whether you have a problem with street drugs or not, you say you don’t have a problem, there’s definitely something wrong if you’re doing that three weeks before the biggest fight of your life.”
Recently it was reported that Jones only stated in a drug rehab facility for one night, but White has said that’s “not necessarily the case“, and that the light-heavyweight champ will soon clarify what’s transpired.
White also reportedly noted in the aforementioned interview that Jones has been “a bit of a handful”, but credited him for being talented and doing some “incredible things.”
