Although Mark Hunt endorsed a Twitter campaign to recruit him as a replacement for the injured Alistair Overeem at UFC 160, according to Dana White, he’s turned down the chance to fight Junior dos Santos.

White relayed to fans via his Twitter account that Hunt was indeed offered the fight, but that the renowned kickboxer turned down the bout. Earlier, the UFC President confirmed that Overeem and dos Santos will fight sometime this summer, after the former returns from a slight tear in his quad muscle.

Hunt hasn’t offered any recent comment on Twitter; however, following his stoppage win over Stefan Struve at UFC on FUEL TV 8, he revealed that he had been nursing an injury going into the bout.

UFC 160 will take place May 25th and will feature heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez versus Antonio Silva in the main event.
