Report: Daniel Cormier Relays PPV Sale Figures For Recent Bouts
By FCF Staff
Daniel Cormier wants to face Jon Jones again so that he can avenge his only pro loss, and silence questions about his championship, but he also knows the rematch could provide a big pay day as well.
The UFC hasn’t confirmed when Cormier-Jones II will happen, but the bout is expected to take place in early 2016. Jones and Cormier fought this past January, and the latter lost the highly anticipated bout via unanimous decision.
Recently the light-heavyweight champ appeared on MMA Junkie Radio, and during the interview, Cormier reportedly outlined how his recent bouts have done in pay-per-view sales.
According to Cormier, his fight in May, when he submitted Anthony Johnson to become champ, drew less than 400,000 PPV buys. “DC” says that his decision win over Alexander Gustafsson last month pulled less than 300,000. Jones-Cormier 1, however, reportedly 800,00 PPV buys.
Cormier went on to say that he believes his rematch with Jones could draw “way over” 1,000,000 PPV purchases.
