Dominick Cruz had indicated that a scheduled fight with Rob Font at UFC Seattle would be the last of his impressive career. But, it’s being reported the former bantamweight champ has been forced out of the bout due to injury.

Cageside Press was reportedly the first outlet to relay the news, and MMA Junkie has also confirmed Cruz’s withdrawal with sources. The nature of Cruz’s injury is not yet known.

The UFC is reportedly looking for a replacement opponent for Font.

The 39-year-old Cruz (24-4) hasn’t competed since he was stopped by Marlon Vera in August, 2022. Prior to that, the renowned fighter had recorded consecutive wins over Pedro Munhoz and Casey Kenney.

The February 22nd, UFC Seattle card will be headlined by a bout between former flyweight and bantamweight champ, Henry Cejudo, and bantamweight contender, Song Yadong.
