Report: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Looking at Crossover Bout With “UFC Star”
By FCF Staff
Following Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s announcement that’s ending his retirement, it’s being reported that one of the bouts he’s considering is a crossover fight with a UFC fighter.
Recently the 42-year-old, decorated boxer announced he plans to fight again in 2020 and that he’s going to be working with UFC President Dana White. Now TMZ Sports is reporting sources say Mayweather’s targeting a second fight with Manny Pacquiao, and a crossover boxing match with a “UFC star”.
Mayweather (50-0) hasn’t competed in an official, professional bout since 2017, when he stopped former UFC champ Conor McGregor. Last New Year’s Eve, however, he quickly finished vaunted kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition match.
Pacquiao battled Mayweather in 2015 and lost the bout via unanimous decision.
