By FCF Staff
UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre could be the latest MMA fighter to be cast in a big Hollywood production, as the French Canadian athlete has reportedly landed a role in the sequel to “Captain America.”
According to a report from the Latino Review, St. Pierre has been cast as the villain “Batroc the Leaper” in “Captain America: Winter Soldier”, which is expected to come out in April, 2014.
The comic book character is an Olympic weightlifter and former member of the French Foreign Legion, who is also an expert in Savate, a French style of kickboxing.
Some of the other actors scheduled to appear in the sequel include Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson.
St. Pierre’s Twitter feed makes no mention of the report, which cites a source inside comic the book maker Marvel for the news.
The welterweight champion is coming off a unanimous decision win over Nick Diaz earlier this month and is expected to fight Johny Hendricks later this year, likely in the summer.
